Archaia
A wonderful view that will greet you every morning, a view of the island of Gospa od Škrpjela and St. Đorđe in front of Perast (the city of romance) are breathtaking and develop all the hidden talents in you. It is 150 m from the beach, and 600 m from the nearest store and post office. The house consists of 3 bedrooms, with a capacity of 6 beds, a living room with a library, a bathroom, and a kitchen. It is air-conditioned, has unlimited internet and its own parking lot. It is 4 km from Risan, 6 km from Perast, and 21 km from the old town of Kotor. It is 24 km from Herceg Novi. The nearest airport is Tivat Airport, 11 km away.
Back in 1700, our family found a home in a quiet bay and on fertile land not far from the Ubli river, which irrigated the land, and in a sheltered place, surrounded by sea and mountains. They built a hearth in the lee, around which 3 houses were later built, which still exist today, and the hearth was located on the site of the house of Archain.
All three devastating earthquakes of 1776, 1880, and 1979 bypassed this house, whose walls and foundations remained undamaged, which proves the strength and durability of the house. Following the First World War, one of our ancestors traveled the world in search of spiritual and material wealth. After a decade of living abroad, enriched by the experience and spirit of the West, our ancestor returns to his homeland, and, under the influence of the culture he met abroad, begins the reconstruction of the house, which gives it its present appearance. What we are especially proud of is the front door, which was built back in 1935.
The name Archaia (Greek Αρχαία) was given not only because of its antiquity, but also because of the proximity of prehistoric drawings that are located nearby.
On a steep cliff above the house, in the late Bronze Age, a prehistoric man painted seven galloping deer fleeing from a hunter on horseback.
Where do deer come from that we don’t know? Whether as a wish, as a prayer for a successful hunt, or as a sacrifice passed on to a deity, remains a mystery. Just like the mystery of the treasure that, according to legend, the Illyrian queen Teuta buried just before her death under the drawings themselves.
Our house can be proudly called Archaia because it inherits a tradition of almost 3000 years in its hinterland and passes on the legend of Teut and its never found treasure from generation to generation.
The house is located in a secluded part of the Bay of Kotor in Lipci, not far from the Lipci – Nikšić roundabout.
